Tasteful Terms of Service

The rules for using Tasteful—written to be short, honest, and aligned with how we actually treat you: one price, no tricks, no selling your appetite.

The full terms are below. These points are the covenant—not the fine print trap.

  • $10 a year, household included

    One subscription covers your household—up to six registered people. Every feature. No Pro tier, no Complete unlock, no ads, no upsells.

  • 14-day full trial

    Try everything free for 14 days—including household invites. No permanently crippled free tier designed to frustrate you into upgrading.

  • Cancel anytime — no maze

    Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions. We do not use retention dark patterns or hostage flows.

  • Refunds through Apple only

    We never touch your card. All charges and refunds go through Apple. Cancel in Settings; request a refund from Apple if you want money back—they decide.

  • No subscription? Still works on your phone

    Cloud sync and household sharing require an active plan. Your food library can stay on-device locally without cloud backup.

  • Material changes get notice

    We will not silently rewrite the deal. Meaningful updates get a new date at the top and notice in the app or by email when practical.

The agreement

By downloading, accessing, or using the Tastefulmobile application and related services (“Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) with Intrinsic Value LLC(“we,” “us,” or “our”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and us for the Services.

The service

Tasteful is a meal-planning and dining companion: your food memory, household context, and help deciding what to eat next. Features may evolve; we aim for reliability and clarity, not engagement bait.

The Services are provided for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Your account

You may need an account to sync across devices. You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us at support@tasteful.to if you suspect unauthorized access.

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required where you live). If you are under 18, use the Services only with a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms.

Households

A household is the shared home in Tastefulfor people who regularly eat and plan meals together. One subscription covers one household's cloud access.

What it is
A household is the shared home in Tasteful for people who regularly eat and plan meals together—partners, roommates, co-parents, or just you.
Coverage
One active subscription covers one household’s cloud access for up to 6 registered accounts.
Owner
The household owner subscribes and manages membership. Members get cloud access while the subscription is active; they do not need their own subscription for that household.
Guests
People added only to a specific meal (without an account) are session guests—they do not count toward the member cap.
Multiple households
You may belong to more than one household, but each household needs its own owner’s active subscription for cloud sync and shared planning.
Trust
Members you invite can see shared household planning data. Only invite people you trust.

Subscription & billing

Tasteful is $10 per year per household after a 14-day full-feature trial. There is no permanently crippled free tier designed to upsell you later.

Price
$10 USD per year per household (plus applicable tax), unless we change it with notice.
Trial
14-day free trial with full features, including household sharing. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Apple’s trial rules apply.
What’s included
Every feature in the app—cloud sync, households (up to six registered members), planning, recommendations, exports—no in-app tier gates.
Who pays
The household owner subscribes through Apple. Invited members do not pay separately while that household’s subscription is active.
Payment
Processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase. We cannot charge, refund, or prorate your subscription ourselves.
Cancel
Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Tasteful → Cancel. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep cloud access until the end of your current trial or billing period unless Apple’s rules say otherwise.
Refunds
Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. Apple approves or denies refunds under its policies—we do not issue refunds directly and do not calculate prorated amounts.
Auto-renewal
After the trial (if any), renews each year until you cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions. Apple sends renewal notices.
No freemium tier
No permanently free cloud plan with features held hostage. Trial or subscribe—or use local-only on your device (see below).
Price changes
If we change the annual price, we will give reasonable notice before it applies to your next renewal.

Local-only use

You do not need an active subscription to use basic features on your device. Cloud sync and household collaboration require an active plan.

On your phone
You may use the app on your device without an active subscription to log meals, places, and recipes locally and use on-device decision features.
No cloud
Without an active subscription, cloud sync, backup, multi-device access, and household collaboration are not available.
Your data
Content you create locally stays on your device until you subscribe and choose to sync. We do not delete local data solely because a subscription ended.
Resubscribe
If you resubscribe, cloud access for your linked household can be restored according to your account and our backup retention policies.

Refunds & cancellation

Apple handles every charge and every refund. We do not manually refund subscriptions or calculate prorated amounts.

Who handles money
Apple is the merchant of record for In-App Purchase. Intrinsic Value LLC does not receive your payment details and cannot issue refunds or partial credits on our own.
Cancel anytime
Cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions. No retention maze in our app. After cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the current trial or annual period—standard Apple behavior, not a separate refund.
Want money back
Use Apple’s refund flow: reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support. Apple decides whether a refund is granted. Do not email us expecting a manual refund—we will direct you to Apple.
During the trial
14-day trial: cancel before it ends in Settings → Subscriptions to avoid being charged. Apple handles trial billing automatically.
Product support
For bugs, account help, or feature questions—not billing—email support@tasteful.to.

Your content

You retain ownership of meals, photos, recipes, notes, and other content you add (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, sync, display, and process Your Content only as needed to operate the Services for you and your household members you invite.

You represent that you have the rights to Your Content and that it does not violate others' rights or applicable law. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or creates risk for users or the Services.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • Attempt to break, scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Services
  • Access another user's account without permission
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Services without our written consent

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your personal information or run behavioral ad networks in the app as of the policy's effective date.

Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Meal suggestions, restaurant information, and nutritional hints are for convenience only—they are not medical, dietary, or allergy advice. You are responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, and food safety.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Intrinsic Value LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50), except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Termination

You may stop using the Services anytime. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or if we must do so for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (content licenses for backup retrieval, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will post a new effective date at the top and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or by email when practical. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms where the law allows.
